Dr. Sara Buckley

A Massachusetts native, Dr Sara grew up on the North Shore where she developed a passion for swimming and a love for animals that began with their first family dog, a goofy and lovable yellow Labrador named Ruffles. She attended Williams College for her undergraduate studies and is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. The Pet’s Vet North End will combine her passions and expertise to provide high quality community medicine. She looks forward to growing the practice and becoming an integral member of her patients’ lives and the community.

Dr. Su Li

Dr. Li moved to Boston with her family and joined Pet’s Vet in 2022. Prior to the move, she worked as an emergency and critical care veterinarian in New Jersey for 6 years. Dr. Li is a graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship in general and emergency medicine at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey and a neurology internship at the VCA Animal Specialty Center of South Carolina. Dr. Li is a Beijing native and she is fluent in Mandarin and familiar with international traveling regulations for pets. She has two human and one feline children and enjoys traveling and cooking in her free time.

Dr. Julie Shields

Dr. Shields grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry from Plymouth State University. In 2004, Dr. Shields moved to St. Kitts to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year of training at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she practiced in Medfield, Massachusetts for 15 years, where she worked alongside and mentored Dr. Buckley. Dr. Shields enjoys all aspects of general medicine, including preventive care, dentistry, and building long-term relationships with her clients. In her free time, Julie enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with her husband, two children, her golden doodle Wiley, and her chickens.

Lindsay

Lindsay, our practice manager, has always had a love for animals and began her career in the veterinary field over 15 years ago as a technician. After moving from North Carolina to Boston, she transitioned into veterinary management. She lives in South Boston with her husband, child, and two “four-legged kids,” Nate and Sunset. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors during the warmer months, and snuggling up with a good book when the weather turns cold.

Sam

Sam has spent over ten years in the veterinary field. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College and has primarily worked in biomedical research. On weekends, she enjoys helping out in veterinary general practices. Sam is currently pursuing a master’s degree in animal science. When she’s not working or studying, she loves going on adventures with her two four-legged children, Otis and Wallace. Her other interests include visiting breweries and cheering on the Bruins with her husband, Colin. Sam joins our team as a veterinary technician in her “free” time.

Hannah

Hannah is one of our client care specialists and originally hails from Syracuse, New York. She later moved to Boston to attend Tufts University, where she studied engineering psychology before shifting career paths into the dog daycare and boarding industry, eventually working her way up to assistant manager. Her love for animals began back in Syracuse, where she has two dogs, Jax and her baby boy, Thor. Hannah is deeply passionate about the animal field and enjoys all forms of creativity—especially DIY projects—while staying focused on continued learning, personal growth, and expanding her knowledge.

Maya

Maya has been in the veterinary medicine field for about a year now after completing a veterinary assisting course. She has always loved animals and has a few of her own at home - a cat named Betty and 2 dogs, named Layla and Figo. Maya enjoys hiking and being in nature, especially the hikes with her fur friends! She is planning to go back to school this fall to pursue certification as a  veterinary technician.  Maya also speaks Spanish and assists with translation for our Spanish speaking clients.

Dawson

Dawson is one of our Client Care Specialists, recently entering the veterinary world, brought by his passion for cats and dogs. He is originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and is a student at Boston University School of Music pursuing his Master's Degree in Viola Performance, and received his Bachelor of Music at the UNC School of the Arts. Dawson has one son, a cat named Tobi, who loves to spend time snuggling with his parents. Outside of The Pet's Vet and playing viola, Dawson can be found reading, attending BSO concerts, and playing string on a stick with Tobi.

Kate

Kate is one of our veterinary technicians who joins us from the south shore. Her favorite color is orange and her favorite holiday is Halloween. Kate and her husband have 4 pets - their dog Luna, cat Holly Olive Princess Carol, and two rabbits named Potato and Reggie (as well as sharing custody of kitty named Noam with her in-laws). Kate has been working in the veterinary field for almost a decade and we are very grateful to have her. She loves all animals and wishes she could have more of her own!

Sue

Sue is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) who joins us in general practice after working in a specialty-emergency veterinary hospital. She is a graduate of Great Bay Community College with a degree in animal nursing. Sue has a special interest in surgery and anesthesia as well as misunderstood dog breeds!
